LAFT build excitement for their upcoming 'New Objectivity' album with the second superb single 'Hazel.'
This Norway-based duo is made up of two accomplished artists in their own right. Vinny Villbass is a powerhouse in the Norwegian club scene as a club owner, promoter, experienced DJ, producer and label head at badabing.diskos. He has played synth and guitar in bands and is a trained engineer who has released on the likes of Beatservice, Rebirth, and Eskimo Recordings. Tomas Järmyr, meanwhile, is a formally trained jazz master, an in-demand session musician and has toured with Pantha Du Prince's The Bell Laboratory while also being in several bands such as The Void Of Expansion, Yodoik III, Motorpsycho and Årabrot. Together they craft Scandi-style house music with rich melodies and plenty of emotion.
The magnificent 'Hazel' begins with loopy chords and dancing digital melodies. Like a tuneful, playful dial tone they build a party vibe as the unresolved synths amp up the tension before a nimble house groove unfolds. The melodies continue to evolve in a jazzy fashion and shine bright over the taught bass vamps which will have any dance floor locked in.
'Hazel' is an expertly arranged track that perfectly balances tension with release.
